Victor Davis Hanson, a man I admire as a scholar, has a post today about the Iraq War and the position of the Democratic Party right now. He has been under attack by a LTC Batemen, who writes on Eric Alterman’s column on Media Matters , a left wing political site. Bateman seems to be upset that Hanson, a classicist and historian, writes on military matters. I guess no one else can write about that although LTC Bateman’s politcal allies, like Harry Reid, certainly seem to feel free to declare the war lost.
Bateman seems unhinged. His medal-polishing is obnoxious. And he’s teamed up with far-left activists. A great example of why the military should stay out of politics.
