The Fred campaign fell short

I declared for Fred here a week ago but  the win he needed in South Carolina didn’t happen. Giuliani is the next one to have a chance to show that he can win a big primary. I don’t think Romney can do it and McCain may be the nominee. We’ll see what happens. I still think Fred was the last real conservative in the race but Rudy is close. McCain is not a conservative.

I didn’t want to get emotionally wrapped up with a candidate, but if I did, it was with Fred. I’m with him on principles and philosophy and I LOVE the way he handles media people. Too bad for us.

    I’m in mourning.

I agree, ladies. How about the Fredster as VP? It used to be that the VP job wasn’t worth what…well, what FDR’s first VP claimed. But after Cheney?

What I am concerned about is the drumbeat to “let” the Democrats win by sitting out this election, because the Republican nominees aren’t sufficiently conservative to suit some people. I understand the upset. But consider two words:

    Supreme Court.

Yes, yes, I know that even Republicans can appoint folks to the Supreme Court who think that they can legislate by fiat. But you KNOW what President Clinton II or President Obama’s nominees will be like, yes?

And Supreme Court justices are for life, not four or eight years.

I’m not trying to convince anyone. I’m just saying.

Fred would make a great justice, and since he and McCain are buddies he might actually get nominated. But otherwise I don’t trust McCain with court nominations. Besides, Fred probably doesn’t crave the judicial life now anyway. I think he’s having too much fun in his acting career.

As much as I hate to admit, I think age would work against Fred (and esp against McCain) if Obama is the opponent.
