Time Magazine has chosen Putin, the fascist dictator of Russia as “Person of the Year.” I have a candidate with far better qualifications.
Captain Travis Patriquin was the author of the Anbar Awakening, no matter what the Democrats and lefty blogs say. His work will never make the front page of the New York Times but his contribution will live on in places where it matters. This isn’t one of them but I won’t forget.

While I agree with your choice, Dr. K., Time Magazine has made many unusual choices for “Man of the Year,” now called “Person of the Year.”

FDR was named three times: 1932, 1934, and 1941.
Heck, GW Bush was selected twice: 2000 and 2004 (must be a Diebold thing). So was WJ Clinton: 1992 and 1998.
The American Fighting Man was chosen in 1950, and the American Soldier in 2003.
As for Putin, there is a long, long history of picking Russian/Soviet despots for “Person of the Year.”
Stalin was picked twice (1939 and 1942).
Khrushchev was selected in 1957.
Gorbachev was selected twice (1987 and 1989).
But I like your choice very much, and I hope that the contributions of the late Captain Travis Patriquin are not forgotten.
