The Paris massacre.

je suis

The horrendous massacre in Paris yesterday has shocked the world. Thousands are expressing outrage and solidarity with the dead cartoonists.

The cartoons themselves are not particularly appealing but they should not be the cause of murder by fanatics.

This is one. The cover promised “100 lashes if you don’t die of laughter!”

The Charlie Hebdo editors also published some of the cartoons that created the fuss in 2006 when a Danish magazine had a contest for Muhammed cartoons.

I have a little statue of this image on my bookshelf. At the time the cowardly France President (and felon) Jacques Chirac complained that they were offensive but a court ruled otherwise.

Jacques Chirac, French president at the time, denounced the magazine and Muslim groups sued, but courts eventually ruled in Charlie Hebdo’s favor.

Charlie Hebdo did not limit their satire to Muslims.

This is actually an anti-Muslim cartoon but it concerns the burkha ban in France and says “wear the burkha inside.”

The Pope was not immune, but of course Christians are not Muslims.

What is equally disconcerting is the craven response of western news media, even Fox News.

They did show one cartoon whereas other news organizations “pixelated” the cartoons, presumably to avoid offending murderous Muslims.

Of course, Obama was using weasel words when he declined to mention Islam.

In 2012, the White House criticized Charlie Hebdo’s publication of the caricatures as “deeply offensive to many.” Who do you think that might be ?

During the September 19, 2012, press briefing, then-spokesman Jay Carney questioned “the judgment of publishing something like this.”

“We know that these images will be deeply offensive to many and have the potential to be inflammatory,” he added.

Obama and his minions are ready to defend free speech as long as it does not offend anybody. No mention of “Piss Christ” of course.

Charlie Hebdo was willing to offend but some of it was actually pretty funny. A Jew pushing a wheelchair with a Muslim in it.

Perhaps the issue of the magazine that inspired the largest international reaction was published in 2012, and sports a cover depicting an orthodox Jewish man pushing a Muslim man in a wheelchair. The headline reads “Intouchables 2,” a spoof of the movie The Intouchables—at the time, France’s second biggest box-office hit—in which a rich white man who is paralyzed from the neck down hires a black ex-con from the projects to be his caretaker.

I feel great sorrow, not for the dead but for all of us who have to live under the threat of such violence by religious fanatics who kill as protest. No picketing for them! Arabs and Muslims are very good at killing. Not much else.

A helpful rant by a Muslim cleric.

Contrary to popular misconception, Islam does not mean peace but rather means submission to the commands of Allah alone. Therefore, Muslims do not believe in the concept of freedom of expression, as their speech and actions are determined by divine revelation and not based on people’s desires.

Glad that was cleared up.

One Response to “The Paris massacre.”

There is a strange alliance between the Left and Muslims. I had taken it that the Left likes Muslims as shock troops against conservative Christians, the forces of nationalism, etc. I’m starting to think that the Left likes Islam for its inflexible thought control.

“Sure, Islam tends to be a bit reactionary. But if we can infiltrate them and get them to endorse our political correctness, and incorporate that into Sharia Law etc, we’ll really be able to overhaul the world and bring it to our views.”
