I enjoy the personal history, and am jealous that you got to live in L.A. before it acquired so many problems.
Los Angeles was a beautiful place then. I was on campus a few days when I realized my eyes were burning from something. That was my introduction to smog which was much worse. I arrived in August and I don’t think I even knew there were mountains until November. Anyway, it was a great time to live here.
